Reflection

Experience
Throughout my 14 weeks of Video & Sound Production, it has been an exciting and fun journey! I have learned so much on sound editing, video editing and even production shooting! As a person who doesn't mind editing, it was great to learn new things explore different ways of editing. While the first few exercises were fairly easy, when project 1 kicked in, it made it difficult but still very enjoyable for me. The sound dubbing project was my first step into adding sound effects and it was intimating at first. I didn't really know what I was doing, but after experimenting with it, it slowly made sense to me. For the production shoot, since I was the protagonist in the scenes, it was fascinating to learn how a movie shoot would usually look like. I also found acting to be way more harder than I thought it would be. The final project was something I wasn't really expecting to do, but it was fun nevertheless although it can be quite time-consuming. Overall, an absolutely exciting and beneficial module to learn about.

Observation
I had the chance to look at some of my classmates' completed work after the deadline. Some of their work was really interesting and inspiring. It gives me ideas on what I could improve on or add in to my video next time. After watching videos provided from some of the earlier exercises, it was really interesting to see some of the shots they pulled in the video. This gave me some interesting shot ideas that I then used in my TikTok/Instagram video.

Findings
Through my 14 weeks of Video & Sound Production, I have learned that during editing, I seem to have a mindset of a viewer. I am constantly playing back my videos to see if the video can be understood if I was watching it for the first time. This to me is a great mindset to have especially when you want to give the best experience possible. Another thing I learned is to always try finding sound effects that fits as well as it can be to the video being edited. I remember finding myself always searching back sound effects to make it really fit the video. Lastly, I learned that planning is essential when making a story-type video. Without planning, there could be no purpose or meaning behind what I'm trying to show.
