Task 3 : Project Ideation Prototype
Our task 3 is a continuation from task 2 where our outcome for this it to create a working/playable prototype. While it is still a prototype, our goal was still to do as much as we can by then.

After getting approval from our lecture for my previous board layout design, I continue working on the design of the board. Since it was candy themed, the icons for each sections should be somewhat representative of candy too. Fig 1.1 shows my references I use for each icon while fig 1.3 the board with the candy-themed icons.

Unfortunately for me, the design did not get approved, more specifically for the icons as they are too complicated and lacked consistency. So I passed it over to my group member Hanson to change it.

I then continue to work on the card designs. From Hanson's new designs, I then reworked it to fit my artstyle (fig 2.1 & 2.2).

fig 2.1, Card Redesign 1 (25/11/2025)

After showing the design to my group members, we all agreed that the character should be in one form, which is its chibi form (small-sized, simple and cute character). The current shield card is an example of it's more natural form, so I needed to change that.

Fig 2.2 shows the almost completed design for the cards. Now it's just the colouring which is done below (fig 2.3).

After a feedback session, our other lecturer, Ms Anis pointed out that the character colour was a bit complicated so we then changed it to the one below (fig 2.4). The reason behind this colour was because it's a mage/witch character and purple colour are common among these kinds of character.

Final Outcome
The final outcome for this task showcases our progress so far on the board game design.

Feedback
Week 10 : The board design is fine for most parts except the icons. They are a little too complicated, try to make it more simple. Remove the outline for the text too. For the card designs, the colour is a little too complicated and it doesn't stand out, switch to something simpler.

Week 11 (Prototype Showcase and Presentation) :
Board
Thickness for the lines should be same, that goes for the icons and and the outline of the board. The yellow board text "ATP" is a bit unreadable, consider changing the tone for that colour. With the center of the board being the most important, the font/sizing should either match the others or bigger.

Cards
Your card lines should follow the same thickness on the board.

Packaging
When you do your packaging, make sure it attracts people to want to play your game.

Roulette
The roulette colour for now doesn't really align with the rest of the game. Change the colour and follow the style of the board which is currently a gradient.

Dice
The dice just doesn't match the game for now, find one that does.

Brochure
The colour of the brochure at the moment doesn't match the game and looks very plain. Please do change it.

Character (Mascot)
Use a main colour, doesn't need to be complex.

Other Notes
Consider your reasonings behind your choice.

Reflection
In terms of doing the illustrations on the card and the board design, it was very fun making them into my vision of the board game as the leader for the art direction. Although that comes with a sacrifice of me doing most the illustrations and guiding my team regarding any illustrations made. I must admit I didn't say much at this stage as we have been barely making deadlines. I will certainly improve on this by making sure everything gets my style approval before the final design gets printed. Overall, our progress for task 3 have been good and I am happy with how much we have progressed. Moving forward from this, I hope to have the board game completed which can appeal to anyone who sees the game.
