Invisible Set Extension 2
In project 2, we needed to improve on our project one, trying to make it as seamless as possible.

From my last progress, I needed to make a couple of adjustments to my current set extension. The adjustments are as follows :
  • Colour correct the entire composition
  • The contour of one of the buildings should be readjusted
  • Make the blending of the backdrop more seamless
  • Experiment with grain effect
  • Glass buildings would reflect to the surrounding environment
  • Road should be readjusted in terms of colour and how it looks
Below shows the updated changes as well as a comparison to project 1.

After this, I had another feedback session where further refinement could be also done. The adjustments are as follows :
  • The most front building should have a proper rooftop instead of just a simple flat surface
  • The mist could be too much, try readjusting the colour and opacity
  • Add more contrast
  • Subtle colouring changes all around
  • Add lighting such as sunrays for a more realistic effect
  • The cloud colour should be more prominent
  • The road should have slight highlights and a bit of texture
Below shows all the adjustments done.

Reflection
After understanding what I needed to do in project 1, project 2 was honestly really fun to do. I like how as you make it more seamless, it comes to life more. It's great seeing my progress slowly gets more lively and realistic over time. I have learned quite a lot through this project such as creating depth, understanding perspective more and how to blend everything together through simple duplications and paint-overs. It was a really beneficial project in helping me understand how to photobash and create realistic looking composition through simple techniques.
