Reflection Instructions Complete Environment Design Bible For our final project, we needed to now 3D model either the interior or the exterior of our designs. Afterwards, we are to compile the 3D model as well as our project 1 and project 2 into 1 complete environment design bible. I have decided to go for my exterior design as I liked it more than my interior. I first begin by blocking out my design, which can be seen progressively below. fig 1.1, Building Structure Blockout (16/7/2025) fig 1.2, Blockout Progress 1 (26/7/2025) Making this window grill was tricky as you needed to adjust part of the vertex to make it make sense. Following the same workflow from my project 1, I first looked and study many different references that are fantasy themed. Lectures (Links to the Exercises Page) 2. Instructions 3.  Environment Concept Built from Assets      Final Outcome 4. Reflection Instructions Back to Top  ↑ Environment Concept Built from Assets  As for my final project, I needed to further refine my model as well as make it as realistic as I can to match my game's style. After receiving feedback from Mr.Kannan I needed to make the control panel/dock less flat and add a bit more character to it. So I went and readjusted the props seeing what kind of design I could come up with. With how sharp the edges of my control panel is, I decided to smooth out most of the hard edges and add some design treatment to parts of structure as well. As for the hero item prop, I did made some changes even i...

Reflection Instructions Back to Top  ↑ Asset Pack for Game World In project 2, we now needed to take our assets from project 1, refine it and the model it using blender. These props will then be used to construct an environment in the final project. After a feedback session with Mr.Kannan, he told me to focus on developing the hero prop as well as the control panel/dock for my project 2 and final project. And so I did just that. While I like how simple my hero prop and control panel looked in project 1, it can certainly be refined further so I worked on that. I looked into more references that better matches what I am aiming for and then begin sketching. fig 1...

Reflection Instructions Thematic Matte Painting (VFX) As for our final project, we needed to take our Project 2's Invisible Set Extension and create what is known as a 2.5 matte painting where it mixes 3D geometry with 2D painting. We are to essentially take our project 2's work and animate in After Effects it to create depth. Images below show the process of my after effects edit. First I added a simple camera zooming out. My idea was to have it zoomed in at the start and then slowly zooming out as it reveals the entire city. fig 1.1, Adding Camera Zoom (28/7/2025) Then I started adding simple movements such as for the cloud, the sunrays and “Zal...
